You're welcome Mary. I never was a "horse lovin' girl" even when my cousins had horses. Now that I'm older...I keep asking for a horse for my birthday. I don't have horses in any of the Julie Collins books, so I hope you won't be disappointed.

Oh, Lori. You flatter me. I'm too old and too wide (we won't go there) to ride a motorcycle. But I needed one in my last book so I went to the local HD shop and they were so helpful - didn't make me feel stupid at all. After the book came out, they asked me to come and sign there. Word spread, and I've been in several shops now. I have some photos of me at some of the shops. When I get the hang of it, I'll put one on here. I ended up in Sturgis when I was in SD while the rally was going on. Didn't know anything like that existed. Was a true experience to remember.

I accidentally deleted your post on my chatterwall... still getting used to this stuff...but to answer your question, Im actually a little intimidated by the idea of Romantic Times. I mean, running around with men who've oiled their bodies and are dressed in loin cloths and nothing else??? Hmm...

Speaking of men with oiled bodies, the only one I ever saw that really worked for me was Ricardo Montalban as Khan in the Star Trek movie. OK, so I'm dating myself. But all that shiny bronzed skin.... over well defined pecs...(sigh)... all right. Enough for a Saturday morning...

Libby - the guys - cover models and EC Cavemen aren't always oiled up. And honestly, they are so mobbed by readers and fans and such that you hardly see them. They are at the dances at night. We actually skipped the cover model competition last year.

The reason I love that con is because its mostly women attending, women who write everything, who are in different stages of their lives and their careers. And readers who get to meet their favorite authors in an informal setting. For me its very much a feeling of sisterhood that I don't get anywhere else in this crazy business. Plus, its hard to be intimidated by editors and agents and "big name" authors when they're next to you on the dance floor shakin' their bootie to KC and the Sunshine Band :)

I'm working on my costumes now...Already got the hat and the chaps for the western party Friday night, sadly, they are my *real* clothes, not a costume.

Bodacious may have broken his face, but Tuff rode him 3 out of 4 times. I say that's worth getting your face smeared.

You're probably much too young, but there was a bull that made Bodacious look like a rodeo calf.

Tornado. Retired with a record of 220-1 (Bodacious 129-6, iirc).

Only one cowboy ever stayed on Tornado for eight seconds - Freckles Brown at the '67 NFR.

My dad has a picture of that ride in his house. He was there. I get chills just typing this.

After Tacoma, I'd say Reindeer Dippin is my fav bull.

I'm a big Scene Of The Crash fan, but that little Reindeer is an exciting little "jumping cow."

That's what my 4-year-old son calls bull riding - "jumping cows."
