DYING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND

For a newbie seeing your name in a book is a kick beyond a number of others. A few years ago I saw a photo on J.A.Konrath's web site of him opening the first box of books he received from his publisher. I thought to myself, I wonder what that is like. When Tony Burton had my copies of Dying sent to me they were miss directed by the people with the big brown trucks for an extra week. Both he and I tracked their progress from Tennessee to Wisconsin and finally to Florida.

My wife and I spent… Continue

WRITER TO AUTHOR OR IS THAT MY NAME ON THAT BOOK

I have been told that anyone more than twenty miles from home who owns their own briefcase is an expert. I've also heard that anyone with paper and a pen or pencil could be a writer, "you have to be published to call yourself an author."

Well, through a stroke of luck or possibly a lowering of standards I have reached the top of the hill. During a one month period I have been gifted with an audio presentation on the net, included in an anthology that will benefit "Toys For Tots", and have… Continue

I Know Somthing You Don't Know

Spent the weekend at KILLER NASHVILLE. It is a great conference with some of the friendliest people I have ever spent time with. If you have the chance to wander that way at about this time next year do so. Tennessee is a lovely state, and your hosts will do anything in their power to make you feel at home. The list of talented panelist grows each year and if you don't learn something there, check to see if you haven't already passed away.

I know what you mean, we're on our way to Texas and we've fought closed roads this morning, endless snow seemingly but actually made a couple hundred miles. I love my wool coat. Here's hoping you survive!

Thank you Allan. My grandmother came from Barengrund along
with several other siblings and of course her parents Adolf and
Marie Lousie Krause Ansorge.
The ship records show the family as Prussian's. I grew up hearing
that we came from Sileasea (spelling?). The rest of our family stayed
behind in Germany. I know no other family other than my Great Grandparents' offspring.
It appears to me that we have a stong thread of literary talent that
runs through this family ( not including myself). I'm very proud of
my Ansorge heritage.

If I could find some one to build it my friend Claire in England will maintain and update it for me. All this is new to me. I am a first time author and I am just getting the hang of promoting my work.

Shame on them, but thank you *so* much for trying. In the UK, I'm published by Constable & Robinson. In the US, Into the Shadows, was published by Carroll & Graf (ISBN 9780786719631). The 2nd, A Darker Side, will be published in UK and US in May.

Belated thanks for adding me, Allan.

Funny, but I thought the Caribbean was calling *my* name.
