About Me:

BACKGROUND

I studied a BA (Hons) degree in English and Theatre Studies at Warwick University, and then an MA is Social Work at UEA. Following this I worked as a Probation Officer for almost a decade. Part of this time was spent seconded to a prison where I specialised in working with lifers (those guilty of murder and other grave crimes).

WRITING

I am currently working on Family Snap. “In two weeks I’ll be sixteen. I’ll have left school and lost my virginity. I’ll also be a murderer.” Three years ago Sam’s mother was attacked, leaving her with brain damage. A man was arrested but never charged, despite local belief that he was guilty. In two weeks Sam plans to take her revenge. This is the story of those two weeks.
I`m on an Adventures in Fiction apprenticeship, and my mentor is the wonderful Laura Wilson.
