Profile Information

Hometown:
Bronx, New York
About Me:
I am a very proud single parent of a very intelligent, eleven year old girl, who is my reason for moving forward in my life. As an example of my insane character, my daughter refers to me as a 'Kid in Dad's clothing'.

Otherwise, I am a writer of fiction and had my first novel published in 2007. Its title is ‘Formally Known As . . . (WGAE: I38956)‘ and is now available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. My work is highly visual and can easily be adapted to film or animation. One publisher rejected 'Formally Known As' because "It reads more like a screenplay than a novel".

Jerk.

I’ve been writing for the majority of my life, and on request, will pass along the comic book fan fiction and mystery sites I’ve written for since 2000. Or, also upon request, samples of my work.

I am not a sports fan; just never got into any sports as a child (and even less as an adult). I am a film and television historian and collect films from the silent era to present (I think the last total was 1,467, but I may be off by 5). I am also a reader of comic books, science fiction, biographies; I read any and everything in print.

Speaking of comics, I am a comic book historian and am teaching my daughter the origins of the characters (and their history). At four, she surprised my friend by pointing at the Oracle action figure and stating, "That's Barbara Gordon. She was Batgirl until the Joker shot her and put her in the wheelchair." She then proceeded to point out my 250-plus displayed action figures and gave my buddy their origins. I also work part time at a comic book retailer.

Other than that, I am very sarcastic, brutally honest, and have a demented sense of humor. Meaning you can ask me any question that comes into your mind, regardless of the topic or sensitive nature.

And do not bother with political correctness; I do not subscribe to that nonsense.
I Am A:

Books And Authors I Like:
Terry Prachett, Stephen King, Michael Chabon, William Shakespeare, Peter David, Harlan Ellison, Robert Bloch, Richard Matheson, Garth Ennis, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
TV: Any CSI and Law & Order, Smallville, Criminal Minds, Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies, Monk, true crime stories on what was Court TV and on A&E, Doctor Who, ect.

Movies: I have almost 2,000 (from the Silent Era to Present) films in my collection. There is not enough space to list the films I like.

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Great Avatar, Bertram. Once of the pre-reviews of my debut book coming out in November also compared its narrative to a screenplay. I think it has to do with us trying to really make the pages fly for the reader.
