I'm half-English, half-Welsh and live in a third country - the Forest of Dean. I'm a qualified librarian but have never worked as one but have worked as a journalist, shop assistant and library assistant in one of the best libraries in London.
Sherlock Holmes was what got me criminally going when I was a kid and twenty years later James Ellroy blew me away and I started reading crime again.
I'd love to get that novel out of me and have ideas about murders in the Forest of Dean I reported on as a journalist but, at the end of the day, the inclination has not yet defeated the inertia and I doubt my own talents.
I write when and what I can for joy and pleasure and have a rambling ol' blog somewhere out there.
I also compose and record electronic music under the guise of The Reverend Spadge Dooley - who will almost certainly be fictionalised at some point - that's his picture on my profile.
Derek Raymond, Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Edward Bunker, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jack O Connell, Douglas E Winter, Georges Simenon, Jim Thompson.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Too many to list but I like the 'classics', The Maltese Falcon, The Big Sleep, Farewell My Lovely etc. L A Confidential. The Sweet Smell of Success. The Big Lebowski. Mullholland Drive.
