Writer, born June 1965, now published by Orion in the UK. Four titles currently out - Candlemoth, Ghostheart, A Quiet Vendetta and City of Lies. A Quiet Belief In Angels to be released in August 2007.
E. Annie Proulx, Steinbeck, Hemingway, Tim O'Brien, Truman Capote, Carson McCullers, Harper Lee, Michael Chabon...and so many, many more it is not possible to name them all!
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Generally don't watch TV...like movies by Hitchcock, Lumet, anything with Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, Jack Nicholson. Big fan of De Niro, Coppola, Pacino. Enjoy Michael Mann, Michael Cimino, Charlie Chaplin (now there's a train of thought for you!)...and once again, this is just a spectacularly impossible question to answer, and I know that later I will think of a hundred directors and a thousand films that should be on such a list!

Hey Roger - thanks for the comment. I'll check out your stuff just as soon as the workload allows. I don't know if this is true of all authors, but I find it really hard to read novels whilst trying to write the bloody things: I either spend my time cursing the obviously superior talent of whoever I'm reading (self-hating neurosis, what can you do?), subconsciously stealing little stylistic flourishes from them, or Just Not Getting Any Work Done.
So forgive me if it takes a while to pick up your stuff!
Message to MysteryDawg...I am thrilled that you enjoyed Vendetta, and I see you and I have a common idiosyncrasy. I leave finished books on trains for others to find, sometimes with a comment inside for them to take it, read it, pass it on. Last one I bequeathed to an unknown recipient was Capote's "In Cold Blood".
Your encouragement and support is greatly appreciated, and I hope you get a chance to read the others!
Just read A QUIET VENDETTA while on vacation in Hawaii and it was fantastic. I left it in the hotel to let someone else enjoy the work of a new master.
Thanks for the welcome to Bedlam! Am looking forward to significantly increasing all my contacts throughout this strange and marvellous business that we're involved in, and I thank you for taking the time to say 'Hi'.
