John D., good stuff although his sexism gets to a lot of modern readers. His attitudes were liberal for the times. He played the father protector. Modern women don't like that stuff. I've reread him recently and I see what they mean.
He wrote one of my most memorable books: "A Key to the suite." (Not a Trav novel) still remember his image of Airline "stewardesses" in it. It was something like they "came off a production line, all with blonde hair." That's not even close, but it is the image that I remember.
