About Me:
I'm a writer, a soccer mom, a big fan of border collies, mystery/thriller books, and movies of all kinds.

My latest book "Tree Huggers" is out now, available on Amazon even as we speak. It's a mystery about a reporter's investigation into an double murder/arson and the militant environmental group accused of setting the fire.

I went to college. More than once in fact. I've also earned two awards--The Ohio Chapter of The Nature Conservancy Volunteer Appreciation Award and Adia's Temp Of The Month Award. Nothing to do with writing, but I'm still proud of them.

I live in Wilmington, NC with my British husband Nigel and our lovely daughter Aly.

Sometimes I think authors (myself included) can be pretty dense when it comes to marketing, at least in our efforts on social networking websites. It seems like whenever I get a friend request on myspace it's from another writer. When I get a comment, it's from a writer talking up his or her latest release. On Goodreads, when I get a book recommendation, more often than not, it was sent by the book's author.

A Time To Dance And A Time to Mourn

Last Wednesday night, my sister Amy and I were among the many die hard Bruce Springsteen fans who came out for his Orando concert after he'd cancelled the originally scheduled one for Saturday, April 19th.

Postcard Mania

Have you ever bought anything simply because someone sent you a postcard?



Hardly a day goes buy that I don’t get some kind of promotional postcard in the mail, offering me everything from pizza to carpet cleaning to the services of a competent, experienced realtor. These cards go directly to the recycling bin, destined for the Mixed Paper section of the local recycling station.

But It Still Resonates....

Anyone been following the Margaret Seltzer story? The woman who grew up in in Sherman Oaks CA, graduated from a private high school, and managed to pass herself off an LA gang member? Her publisher is shocked, shocked to discover she made it all up. Apparently all they know about gang life in Los Angeles is what they've read in the New York Times and seen in HBO documentaries.

Judy, I hope you get to England one of these days. How wonderful it would be to be with someone from there even though there would be changes. Nothing as constant as change, is there?

Judy, thanks for adding me to your friends. You said your husband is British--I was in England about seven years ago and absolutely loved it. My husband and I didn't know what to expect from the weather in October, but it was lovely and only rained once. Anyway, your new book sounds intriguing and I look forward to reading it.

I just finished a successful booksigning in a very small bookstore. You never know what will work, do you??

Your book sounds good....some environmental themes. Antler Dust deals with animal rights activists in the mountains of Colorado. Great reviews and it's fairly cheap now (used) on Amazon. Just looking for readers. Cheers, Mark
