reader of crime fiction - like all genres - recognise the merits and demerits of all - dislike bad writing and sloppy research. Enjoy historical research, contemporary and past politices [cynica!]. Collector of ephemera [letterheads, share certificates etc], restaurant ware, railway timetables and soda siphons. Retired public servant, married no kids.
Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammet, Ed McBain, Ian Rankin, James Ellroy, Conan Doyle, Lindsey Davis, Peter Corris, Michael Pearce, Boris Akunin, Simon Maigret, too many to mention in fact
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
TV shows - Old Perry Mason, Streets of San Francisco, the Sweeney, Homicide, again a lot of shows soert of half remembered.I liked the the old Untouchables a lot good atmosphere with Walter Winchel's voice over [all right it wasn't true but it seemed like it]
