Profile Information

About Me:
Been a freelance nonfiction writer since 1984 and a few years ago got more into writing fiction, with a fantasy and two mystery series. This is my job, usually 12 hours a day.

I'm always looking for a new mystery (and I prefer series) to read. When Robert B. Parker died I was bereft of his Jesse Stone police procedurals and, since i'm a writer anyway, decided to create one for myself. Thus was born the Mangrove Bayou books, of which the first two are scheduled for release in 2015 by Untreed Reads. You can read sample of those (there are now five) at MangroveBoyou.com

I also run — since 1998 — WritersCollege.com, one of the largest writing schools online.

Books And Authors I Like:
I have almost complete collections of these: Robert B. Parker, Robert Crais, Randy Wayne White (our "turfs" overlap), Lindsey Davis (did a nice historical mystery series set in ancient Rome), Tony Hillerman, Rex Stoout, Arthur W. Upfield (charming mysteries set in 1920s-1930s Australia).

I do read others (and not all of them are dead) but I am rather picky.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Don't go to movies unless it's on a date and, as a result, all I ever see are chick-flicks.

Don't own a TV. That's so — 20th-century.
