i am a crime writer who specializes in Victorian historicals set in the early 1840s...my Trumpets Sound No More, Rendezvous Crime/Napoleon Press won the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Novel in Canada in 2008.

Books And Authors I Like:
i like James Lee Burke and Michael Connelly and P D James, all of whom teach me about how to write landscape and character and the use of suspense
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
i prefer all kinds of films from new Chinese and Tawainese films ( Wong Kar Wei) to old silents (Victor Seastrom, King Vidor) to color musicals and wild experiments like Maddin and Sokurhov.....
