Oops, I did it...I mass invited every friend on Ning...so off with my head!

Yes, I do know about Crimespace's policy on promoting events through mass emails. And I do apologize to everyone here for my recent message blast. Oops.

It seems that as the creator of Canadian Authors Network, I innocently (and yes, it wasn't intentional) sent an invite to a Canadian event to every friend I have on the Ning network, instead of to the Canadian group only.

So go ahead, handcuff me and lock me up. I have the right to remain silent...

Okay, being silent isn't one of my strong suits.

On the charge of sending email invites to every friend I have, I plead not guilty by reason of temporary insanity. Or is that stupidity?

I would like to promise that I won't be a repeat offender, but that's not very realistic. Although I'm very computer savvy, I haven't spent a lot of time checking out all the control (insert evil laugh here) I have in the Canadian Authors Network.

So, I will do my best to be good. Please delete my message to you. UNLESS, by chance, you happen to be in the Edmonton area.

And if you do get another mass email from me, I'll plead the 5th. (Do we have that in Canada?) Okay, I'll plead the 4th...or the 3rd...

Can I get a straightjacket in mauve and teal, please? :)

Hi Daniel,
Yes, I have received those posts...and probably the one sent 5 times. I know what you're getting at and please don't take my post the wrong way. That was my first post sent across the network (and I thought only to the Canadian Authors one.) It took 2 replies before I realized what I'd done. :)

And sticking with the "crime" theme of this network, I thought I'd poke fun at myself and give everyone a laugh.

I'll definitely try not to do it again. But you might want to order the purple straightjacket anyway. I look good in purple.

Cheryl, this kind of thing is becoming a real problem for me and many members. Not that there's anything wrong with sending invites to friends, but with Ning having the system working across all social networks, it gets more than a little crazy.

Recently one member here did a blog post on five different networks (not on CrimeSpace) then shared that post with all their friends.

They got the message five times.
