On Good Morning America, Paul Newman said:

This reduces me to a sniveling little boy. I don't want him to quit, I want more Newman!
He and Robert Redford had been planning on making another movie together, with plans for it to be a big screen version of Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods.
Newman had said that would be his final film. I am guessing that must have fell through.
Here is hoping they do get back together for one final flick.
