Harry and his friends are now in the 6^th year at Hogwart's. They're growing up and are experiencing the highs and lows of relationships. But it is also when Professor Dumbledore decides it's time that Harry know the history of Lord Valdemort.

This volume had less focus on some of my favorite characters, and was clearly a segue to the final book. It included a large amount of expository information on Valdemort that slowed the pace but was important to the story. I did cry at the end and am already anxious for the final book. It will be sad when it's over.
