DEATH AT LA FENICE (Police Procedural-Venice-Cont) – VG
Leon, Donna – 1st in series
Harper Touch, 1992- paperback
Commissario Guido Brunetti, is called to investigate the cyanide death of famous Maestro
Helmut Wellauer. He finds a multitude of suspects for a victim whose life wasn't as beautiful as the music he conducted.
The character of Brunetti, his friends and family, and even some of the suspects were the strength of this novel.
Along with this was Venetian Brunetti's view of his Venice, which I appreciated. The mystery itself was interesting, although without suspense. The outcome was certainly a bit different, but worked for me. I very much enjoyed this book and will read more of the series.
