First let me say, for anyone who isn't familiar with the writings of an author/writer by the name of Brian Porter, you should be acquainted and quickly! I first become aware of his brilliance when I read his work of art, A Study in Red {The Secret Journal of Jack The Ripper} The versatility he shows in his writing are immense, and his short story, Dracula Doesn't Live Here Anymore, is just another testament to that fact.

In Dracula Doesn't Live Here Anymore, the reader travels with an investigative reporter from London, by the name of Dexter, to a tiny village known as Auschstadt. Five people had been brutally murdered in less than a month, all completely drained of their blood. To get to his destination he must rely on someone who is quite familiar with the location. Christina Radaluc, his contact, is the beautiful mysterious and equally intelligent investigative reporter, who will enlighten him on the locals strong beliefs that the killers responsible are none other than vampires. However, Dexter's investigative instincts tell him there is much more to the story, and he is not going to rely on folklore to break this case.

Absorbed in the dialogue, I felt as if I were there listening and watching these two people as they journeyed into this cold, dark, mystifying region. Mr. Porter's description of this area and the people were dead on, so to speak. Mr. Porter has managed once again to thrill and captivate my imagination with this horrifying short piece known, as Dracula Doesn't Live Here Anymore!

Now that's got to make an author feel good. Not only is this person a fan, but she is an author in her own right.
