If anything, it reinforces my belief that I'm not missing out by not doing signings. Shiste, most people can't even name their governor, much less give a rat's ace about authors. Kind of reminds me of this spot-on video.

Yes, indeed!  Once you're out there, you smile and you talk and you feel like a fool the whole time, thinking that the people who are there are simply too kind and polite to get up and walk out.  And you cringe.

That whole article proves once again what a massive waste author appearances are.  Even the eleven people (ego boost?) each buying a book will not make an iota of difference.  You need to sell thousands.
