BBC Radio Solent called today to ask me if I would be happy to be featured as one of ‘Julian’s People’ to follow throughout 2009. Of course I jumped at the chance. Julian Clegg presents a very lively radio programme from 6.30am to 9.30am every weekday.
“It may be Julian and the team of reporters, travel, weather and sport presenters behind the mic, but it's 'Julian's People' who really make BBC Radio Solent's breakfast show the South's favourite.
Julian’s show has introduced a range of characters who the South have taken to their hearts. Our 'Julian's People' slot brings you the amazing stories of southerners like Dee Caffari and Rhys Jones, before they hit the national headlines.”
Hey, and now I’m going to be one of them – how exciting. It means I get to be interviewed once a quarter and tell listeners about my marine mystery crime and thriller novels, and what's happening with my writing and my novels. My first interview is on 2 April 2009 at 6.45a.m. I’m sure I’ll be reminding you about it before then!
I was recently part of the programme’s 100 Lives Project, where the lives of 100 people were followed through 2008. This culminated in the Christmas party broadcast, which was huge fun.
