It's official! I just got the word from my publisher that their foreign rights department sold the rights to FREEZING POINT to Droemer Knauer in Germany and to the Czech Republic, whoo-hoo! The German edition will be paperback, and the Czech will be hardcover. These are my first foreign rights sales. Really, REALLY happy and excited!

Gefrierpunkt. I believe it's 0 degrees Celsius.

Most educated Germans have had 8 years of English in school.

Thank you! It's very cool to think my novel will be published in languages I don't even read. I did a signing last week in NYC with Sebastian Fitzek, a bestselling German thriller author who's making his debut with St. Martin's in the States, and he did a fabulous job of reading an excerpt of his novel in English. I'd be doing good to be able to pronounce the title! (What is "Freezing Point" in German, anyway?)

Congrats, I hope you rack up some more territories. The more countries the merrier.
