I'm visiting my family in North Carolina this week, and was pleased to run across an article in a local paper that described the enduring value of regional dialects. Read rest of post.
The article was dead on. I write about South Texas and I try to capture the multiple accents from that region with rhythm and dialogue. If I tried to wrat tha way they tauked no bidy wud be able to onerstan' eet. Okay, that was a bad example, but you get the picture.
