I launched my first free international giveaway for my dark thriller K.A.R.M.A. this week - and have been very pleased with the results so far. In its second day as a freebie, K.A.R.M.A. is currently sitting at:

So after three days, over 7,000 readers downloaded K.A.R.M.A. - a successful giveaway, for sure. Hopefully this will introduce a few new fans to my other books.
Yeah, I need to edit and polish the new thriller as soon as I finish editing and polishing my second Dixie Flynn novel and writing the next Dixie that I just signed a contract for this week.
That makes sense. And why I hear the more stuff you put up, the better off you are.
This is my biggest giveaway so far with over 6,000 downloads in two days. My previous free giveaways were in the U.S. only (due to the rights I owned vs Random House UK) and the biggest effect that I saw was when I listed a new book for sale - Amazon sent an email to everyone who had downloaded my previous books and sales for the new book have been my best ever.
That's been a big debate around here, right? Does giving away free books drive future sales of cash product?
Seems to me it would depend on the reaction of those who sampled free: If they loved it, begin a word of mouth campaign, it'll pay off. How do you see it?
Thanks, Jack - once it finishes today, we'll see what it does to actual sales.
Love to see these numbers for a paid copy :)
Nice!
