This Saturday is the most romantic day of the year, and while this may mark me as unromantic, I don’t understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day. When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.

Besides, after a dozen years with the same lovely lady I’ve learned that love is more than romance. It’s not just looking at each other, it's looking in the same direction.

An old symbol based on Greek/Roman mythology involving Venus and her son Cupid (Eros= God of Love).
