Trouble Placing Crime Flash Non-Fiction Piece

Among the 9 million or so side projects I've got going on, I'm trying to find a home for a piece of flash non-fiction. Not looking for money, but more just a place to publish the damn thing and get it out of my head. The places I've considered and/or submitted to fell into one of these categories:

1) Doesn't do crime flash non-fiction, only literary.

2) Charges a fee for considering the piece.

3) Likes the piece, wants it much longer.

Getting something published in the sub-sub-sub genre of crime flash non-fiction has me stuck. Any ideas, 'Spacers?

It's the non-fiction version of crime flash fiction. Like the stuff you'd find at The Flash Fiction Offensive, but true.

Reader's Digest has several categories for very short feature articles. Is that what you're talking about? "Flash non-fiction" is new term to me.

Good idea, Dana. I've found that fiction sites want fiction, though.

I can't be the only crime flash non-fiction writer out there. But I admit it's a pretty narrow demo.

oops, I'm sorry. I didn't read closely enough and thought it was a fiction piece. You could try the outlets I mentioned; I don't know if they accept non-fiction, though. Both sites run by real nice guys.

I'm assuming you want it printed on paper. There are several well-maintained web sites that take flash pieces. (Twist of Noir and Powder Burn Flash come to mind off the top of my head. There are others.)
