What a nice article they printed in the NYT about you, "Artists in Residence". Nice profile...and you're right, the countryside can be scary (LOL) which helps keep us writers busy!
Jane, thanks for the invitation and congratulations on yoru awards. I feel like we've met -- maybe at a Bouchercon??
My best to you and your writing, Betty
Hi Jane-
Thanks for the invite - we'll have to get together one of these times and talk 'antiques' - after my 30 years in the biz and your foray - oh, my - the stories we could tell, huh? :)
Very impressive credentials with those nominations. I'm not familiar with your series;is it a cozy? Guess I'll have to check it out. How do you like NY?
Do you know Julie Hyzy? She is President of the midwest chapter. I met her at the LIM conference and she is a wonderful spokeperson for MWA. I plan to join as soon as my book is released in June.
Jane, I can't believe we didn't meet at LCC Denver. How odd. Can't wait for the At Home in Berkeley, and since it's here at my home, we're bound to meet!
Hello Jane, thanks for your invite. Must be nice to be able to write "New York is my hometown"! I'm in NYC next week, getting married in the Empire State Building (despite my vertigo). Your series sounds like lots of fun.
Cheers
Chris
Jane, I just realized you used to hail from Portsmouth! I've spent the last ten years there at the PD. So nice to meet you and continued success on the series.
Your home sounds like the perfect place for accidental international intrigue. And worth higher insurance rates. I sure wouldn't want to be on the same block with president of Pakistan.
I cut my teeth on Rex Stout and John D. MacDonald but had never though I'd be writing a continuing character series until I created and introduced myself to Webb Sawyer in Blue Heron Marsh. In a recent review Webb was being compared to Parker's Spencer and Burke's Robicheaux, Sawyer being somewhere in between. I haven't read you, but will make it a point to pick up one of your books. Excerpts for mine are on my crimespace page. Hope you'll take a peek.

Sorry to say I haven't read your books yet.But they are definitely on my (way too big!) to read list.
Warmly, Jane
Enjoyed your story Killing Time in the Nov. issue of AHMM.

It was great to meet you too! Hope to see you again soon at another event.
