I told her that after she gets on her own she can do what she wants with her body... but for now she is too young for that sort of thing. Hopefully she won't, and the trend will be gone!
Hi, Eric. Nice to meet you (sort of). I'm brand new to Crimespace, but it looks pretty cool. I appreciate you adding me to your friends. (No tatoos for very similar reasons. Plus the pain).
That's a shame. And this piercing thing... I say no because this leaves scars. She is an artist but only 14 years old and she is in college and high school at the same time. At times she thinks she is older than her chronological age. I really have to put my foot down because of the peer pressure. I tell her, se is a fleming, not a lemming! lol I don't know how long that will be effective...
I think the artist behind the tattoos are talented... However, I would never get one or allow my daughter to get one only because of my personal beliefs. They are very detailed and interesting. Kris
Thanks for the invite. Never been to Asia. The closest I got, I suppose, would be by living vicariously through a "character", of sorts in my book, BONE THIEF. He's a lammergier, a three foot vulture, with a nine foot wingspan, who calls southern Asia his home. Best of luck to you, Eric!
Jonathan Valin? No, I must look him up. Yes, Estelman is always such a pleasant surprise. He was very young when he decided to be an author. Yet, he won't join the computer age---his wife maintains his website.
I hope you get to meet him---tell him, hey, for me.
I always think of helicopters in LA when I'm stuck on the freeway...that big Lotto win and then I'm off to the nearest airport to charter a copter and land in style on a roof
It's about the same. It's such a different approach that it feels like I'm doing something entirely different. Although at the moment I'm going a bit berserk trying to come up with a good, saleable idea for the next non-fiction book, that I can get enthusiastic about writing.
Interesting about screenwriting. I've never tried it, but it seems like a totally different art altogether to me.
Screenwriting feels like a vacation when I've been writing a novel... and the same goes for novels. I like changing gears every once in awhile to keep everything fresh. How do you like switching between fiction and non-fiction?

A fellow Yooper, wrote---'We Only Played Home Games'---he coached a maximum security prison hockey team in northern Michigan...

Always great to meet another Estleman fan. I'm just finishing 'The Undertaker's Wife'---interesting.
My novel---scheduled for a June release---has a journalist protag, plus a number of others who play key roles.
Thanks for the invite.
