Marcus Sakey
Just read through author Marcus Sakey's Celestial Navigation page on things to keep in mind while writing. This is great advice and I will come back to it often. I think I will read one of Sakey's novels next.
In the mean time, spending my time hacking on my SF novel, Tyrmia. I suspect that I will need to get it done quickly, so I can focus on another mystery after the release of Null_Pointer this summer. I have the plot and a few characters in mind for NP's sequel, but not one word written. The title is awesome though, Kill Dash Nine. When written by a Unix system administrator, Kill -9 (proccess ID) will completely take out a running process or program. All the Joshua Jones mysteries have geeky, computer and programming related titles. It's just my thing, you know?

Sakey's The Blade Itself is quite good, Ken. I thought I'd mention that since you said you think you'll read one of his books.

Sakey makes some sense -- though at the moment I'm regretting having taken my agent's advice, and I've been known to disagree with editors. These people are experienced in many ways, but they are not always right.
