Hello, everyone. Been away from writing for a little while.

One of the first things I've done since coming back is to put together a collection of my published crime short fiction. NOWHERE TO GO features eleven stories of murder, obsession, fear and--sometimes--redemption, first published in Alfred Hitchcock's, Ellery Queen's, and more.

My short fiction has been reprinted in Year's Best anthologies, won a Derringer Award, been voted into readers' top ten of the year, and been the basis for a novel shortlisted for the UK Crime Writers' Association's Debut Dagger award.

As well as Amazon, it's up on Smashwords for e-readers other than Kindle, and you can download or read a free sample story: One Step Closer, which won the Derringer award for best short story.

If you read it, I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Benjamin. Thought it was a little different. Being trapped is something of a theme in the stories in the collection, one way or another, and I thought the photo captured that, but also hinted, as you say, that there's a sting there if you're not careful...

Helluva enticing cover. Says to me, "You're gonna get stung if you don't watch out."

Ack.  Misspelled your name.  Sorry!  Iain!   And yes, e-books rock at least in that respect.

Thanks Ingrid, and good luck to you too. I've always thought it a shame that stories published in print tend to disappear from the world after a month or two, and the main attraction of an ebook was the idea of simply putting them back out there again.

Very good luck, Ian.  By coincidence, I'm getting ready to do the same.  Also eleven stories, previously in AHMM.  Thank God, stories aren't dead anymore after a brief apprearance in the magazine.
