So, my 49th is coming up. And I was wondering what I needed to do to make the upcoming year mean something. Because...the year before you turn 50 should mean something, shouldn't it?
So a couple weeks ago I decided I would lose 50 pounds before I turned 50. It's something I need to do anyway. And I want to look decent for my son's wedding. So Jeff and I developed a lifestyle change. Two weeks in, and we've each lost around 10 pounds.
I don't know how it will go, but hopefully…

No, I'm not 98 -- since several people commented on my profile age, I decided to put in my real one (49 next month).
The artwork on my profile was done a few years ago as a logo for me. I liked it so much I commissioned artist Erica Well to create covers for my books in the same style. She did a wonderful job~ I'll get them loaded on to this computer and post them on the site soon. She also did the cover for my non-fiction book!

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”
Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."
Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"
Book Synopsis:
The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.
Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.
The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.
I'd be more than happy to put a reference or short quote from it/about it in my book. Mine is about how the disease pushes you to get in touch with the wild woman inside--and you do whatever it takes to survive. End bad family relationships, scream at your doctor, threaten to sue the hospital, or (in my case) defy immigration to adopt in spite of my diagnosis.
My email is cherylaswanson@gmail.com. If your book isn't out yet and you'd like a blurb, let me know. Or if there is ANYTHING I can do to help you.

Hope you're writing well and more or less constantly, since that't the only thing that works for me.
