My lovely wife Denise (the publisher) is
blogging about LSI because it has been a very successful place for us to publish and because she is asked numerous questions about it by self-publishing authors wanting to know how it works.

Tomorrow I’ll make my last visit to the Borders Express in St Charles Town Ctr before the big book release party there for
Russian Roulette. I’ll be there from 5 pm to 9 pm signing my novels and chatting about the upcoming book. If that’s your home area, it would be cool to stop by at 5000 Highway 301 S Waldorf, MD, and see where all the fun is…

When you sit down to start your workday, look around your office. I’ll bet there’s that one person who keeps the ship afloat by handling the thousands of essentials that let you concentrate on your actual job. Notice that as soon as that person sits down to a cup of hot coffee, her boss will ask her to do something that will last until the coffee is cold.
We have a very effective lady in our office who makes things happen. Fire and forget, you know it’s handled. Of course, the…

Saturday’s book signing at Borders Express - Wheaton Mall was fun, not just because I got to meet a whole new crowd of potential fans, but because I saw some old one’s too. New friends included Monica, who e-mailed me that same night to say, “I am here reading the book that you signed and have not been able to put it down.” One old friend gave me a wonderful surprise by stopping by with the baby, but he slept thru the entire experience (Hi Sally!)
Sunday, Reagan National Airport was…

I like to point you to books that will be good additions to your personal library, or web sites that might help you find them. Today I want to tell you about a new on line television show from WVTA Television called “
Morning Coffee."

Friday afternoon at Borders in Washington Dulles International Airport was another fun time of ups and downs as the store filled up after a landing, then thinned out for a while. I got to send my novels off to Zimbabwe and Ghana, among other places.
Saturday I hopped up to Baltimore to read from my story in Maryland Writers Association anthology. It was an intimate little group at the Roland Park Branch Library, but since I’m a fan of many of the other authors in the book I get a…

Happy Easter, albeit a tiny bit late. We all find meaning in our own way. For me as a Christian, the resurrection reminds me that we all have the opportunity to start over no matter what my circumstances.
As a writer, I see a broader meaning that everyone can benefit from. Easter says that yes, you can put truth in a grave, but it won't stay there.

One thing that will make tomorrow a good Friday is that I’ll be greeting Easter weekend travelers at Borders in Washington Dulles International Airport. I’ll enjoy signing books from 2 pm to 6 pm. If you’re flying into or out of that airport, look for me in Terminal B.

This week we see the crossover of two powerful religions as Passover starts the day before Good Friday, and I can’t help but think about the commonalities rather than the differences.
For one thing, we can all enjoy watching Charlton Heston in The 10 Commandments this weekend. Heston is known more recently for his support of the National Rifle Association and one might think that if the ancient Israelites had owned guns, all the plagues and sea parting might not have been necessary…

The mysterious Readermouse in Louisiana posted
a nice review on Amazon.com about the seminal Hannibal Jones novel, The Troubleshooter.
Readermouse (any relation to Danger Mouse?) read the book via Kindle and gave it five stars. In addition to some kind words about my novel Readermouse put my mind at ease about one thing by assuring me that there were no format problems with the Kindle version. So if…

Tuesday I had the chance to hear some of my Maryland writer friends read their work, and all I had to do was read some of mine. Eleven of us gathered at the Howard County Central Library to share our stories, poems and essays printed in “New Lines from the Old Line State: An Anthology of Maryland Writers.” The audience clearly enjoyed it, but no more than I. I’m proud to be in that volume with such talents.
Then over the weekend I had fun at a couple of familiar Borders Express…

In this blog I like to share books I think should be in your library. Today I want to tell you about a tasty treat from Jeffrey Deaver entitled “
The Bodies Left Behind.”
For me Deaver is a local author and I’ve followed his quadriplegic criminalist Lincoln Rhyme for a long time. I love an intricate story (as you know if you read my stuff) and despite my own mammoth ego I have to say that IMHO, Deaver is the…
