I have decided to go to my first mystery conference this year. There are a lot of them to choose from, and as I am a total newbie at this, I am confused as to where to start.

If you have been to one, or two, (or more even!), would you please post here and tell me your experience and help me choose?

I am not worried about the costs, either.

Hi Kim,
I am going to my first writers conference the end of February. I picked the Whidbey Island Writers Conference in Washington State www.writeonwhidbey.org/Conference/ I have not been to it before but I chose it for these reasons - two hour drive for me, Elizabeth George is doing one of the "Fireside Chats", there are agent meets and the island is gorgeous so even if I don't get anything out of it I will have had a lovely weekend. I will check in and let you know how it goes for those that might be interested next year. It is a small, intimate conference with lots of one on one chances with writers and publishers. If anyone else is going, let me know. Back to writing......
