Paul is Paul Little, an ex–con who walks away from the promise of a straight life to return to a life of crime in Philadelphia. It doesn't take long before he's implicated in the death of a petty thug, and feeling pressure from both a dangerous gangster and the police detective who first sent him to jail. The death of Paul's grandfather offers him a way out, to a peaceful life on a farm in North Carolina – but can he live that long?
