James McLevy, the original Edinburgh detective, needs YOU!

Hello crime fiction fans!

I am hoping to get the opinions of you lovely people, here on the most prominent crime fiction forum that I could find, in order to help with a non-profit publishing project.

My aim is to get James McLevy's victorian crime stories republished in their original form to be distributed free of charge in his beloved city of Edinburgh, but first I need a little research to prove why this is a great idea (I love crime writing so I'm biased but some people need to be convinced!)

This questionnaire will take 5 minutes or less, but could mean that one of his wonderful books is republished for a limited print run for the first time since 1861.

So if you have a little time to spare, I will consider myself beholden to you forever if you could copy and paste the link into your address bar and give it a go!

Thanks so much for any and all support!

Two of his books are still available on Amazon.  Is it possible to get the electronic rights and put them out as ebooks?

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your suggestion, ebooks are definitely an exciting possibility for this project. The books available on Amazon are other publishers' pick of the stories in the five original books published in the 1860s so my aim is to publish The Sliding Scale in its entirety as it was enjoyed by the Victorian folk of Edinburgh.

If you get the chance I'd highly recommend reading a few of the stories, they're a blast!
