"Lawman," not to be confused with "Lawman"

I just saw a promo for A&E's "Lawman" on TV tonight. Could this be the much-anticipated small screen adaptation of the Elmore Leonard character U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens?

No, not unless you think Steven Seagal could carry the weight of a Leonard character.

Apparently, A&E and FX Networks each have series named "Lawman" in the works. The one on A&E stars Steven Seagal and is a reality "COPS"-type show. The FX "Lawman" is scripted and based on the Givens character.

The one with Seagal is actually called Steven Seagal: Lawman. Yeah, looks just like COPS. The second one has Timothy Olyphant, who was in Deadwood. It might be good; hard to tell from just one clip.
