Festival Programme
The seventh New Writers UK Book Festival, comes to County Hall, West Bridgford, Nottingham, UK, on Friday, October the 7th and Saturday the 8th. This free event features a packed programme of talks and workshops that will appeal to writers and readers alike.
Guest speakers on the Friday evening (6pm – 10pm) include the former Forest goalkeeper, Mark Crossley, who will be discussing his autobiography; a talk from the bestselling, David Belbin, author of Bone and Cane; a storytelling masterclass from Pete Davis (Storytellers of Nottingham) and a talk ‘On Being a Children’s Writer’, from Lucy Daniel Raby, whose screenwriting credits include ‘Shaun The Sheep’ and ‘Angelina Ballerina’.
On the Saturday (10am – 5pm) you can hear from Mills & Boon’s Kate Walker, offering advice on ‘Writing Romance’; Stephen Wade, with tips on ‘Writing Non-Fiction’; Dee Whitehead, the singer and actress, best-known for her role on ITV’s Emmerdale; the award-winning novelist, Eve Makis; Ian Collinson, Nigel Pickard and Megan Taylor from Weathervane Press.
Hear from publishers, meet authors and visit book stalls, in what promises to be a great festival for anyone believing that they have a book in them.
All of the talks and workshops are free, as is entry to the festival and parking. No booking is required (excluding the creative writing session for children).
