    Thanks for the invite. I just finished Barry's THE LAST ASSASSIN, and I said to my husband, "How can we like a guy who kills people for a living?" But we both do! I also really like Paretsky, and I let myself read the next one as a treat when I've been very good and finished editing something for the 10th time or handed in "ancillary material" that is not fun to write at all.
    I live in Michigan and travel often to Toronto, Sarnia, and Stratford. My husband takes the more northern routes, fishing and hunting in northern Ontario.

    Looks like we have similar tastes. My series of cozy mysteries doesn't have a bone fide PI, but a club of elderly women who keep running into crimes they try to solve. Sometimes the results are dire. I myself, besides writing about crime, am a retired criminal (no arrests, no convictions).
