I'm the Wall Street editor of FORBES magazine. My thrillers, TOO RICH TO LIVE and FEAR & GREED are the beginning of the Karen Glick series, published by Dorchester Leisure Books. Check them out! I also co-authored a thriller, LADYKILLER (Oceanview Press, April 2007), with my wife, Meredith Anthony. We live in Manhattan and have a ball.
Hi, Lawrence! Thanks for the invite! I think writing a book with one's spouse sounds like a good proposal for another book! :) Congratulations!
I, too, enjoyed HBO's Rome--or, as I described it to a Latin class--"X-treme Rome." It was a fun series, if only to see Polly Walker and a lot of fine actors chew up the scenery.
And one question ... can you live in Manhattan and *not* have a ball? ;) I love New York! :)
Hi, Lawence, thanks for the invitation. My wife writes mysteries while I tend more to literary fiction, keeps us comfortably distant. Looks like you've had a great career. Congratulations! Look forward to seeing you more on crimespace.
I liked Rome, and I, Claudius, and the Robert Harris novels. Give me ancient Rome.
Thanks, Larry! I'll have to check out your Karen Glick series. Didn't I read a story about you and your wife Meredith's collaboration on Ladykiller in one of the writer magazines recently (The Writer or Writer's Digest)? It's wonderful you guys can do that. I can't imagine co-writing a book with someone. I'm too single minded and stubborn! ;-)
Hi, thank you for the invite! Wow, I'll have to check out your books. Judging by the authors you like, along with your favorite movies and TV shows, your work is probably right up my alley.
Hi. I'm new to crimespace, and new to crime writing, having just finished a PI novel, and am about to embark upon the unknown waters of getting it publisehd.
Thanks for the invitation, and I am speechless in admiration of a man who collaborates with his wife. (Or, for that matter, of a wife who collaborates with her husband.) Hope the book is doing great -- I'll look for it.
Hello, Lawrence. I received a message that you wanted to connect in this site. Your profile sounds like you are thoroughly enjoying yourself, and I would enjoy chatting with you. Jeff Kinghorn
Hi Lawrence,
Thanks for the invite. I'm pleased to be part of your circle. And congrats on your book tour. I need to get out and do the same thing for my suspense novel CROSSHAIRS. I'm waiting for a directory of indie bookstores throughout Florida. Perhaps we can correspond some more and you can recommend the shops that you found most open to you. Again, congrats! And best of luck with LADYKILLER!
Russ
Hi Lawrence,
My work was in Crafts Business, Bead & Button, Bead Release, and Craft Report. I was a regular contributor to Crafts Business, until they were bought out. I concentrated on the arts and crafts because that's where my interests were at the time. I have to say, fiction and non-fiction are two completely different animals. Non-fiction was so easy, tell me what you want, and I'll write the article. Fiction, not so much.
Much more difficult if there isn't a deadline looming.
Jamie
Me again. I just visited your website. I now have you on my list for next week's book order. Oh, I love this place! But with so many new books to read, I won't have time to write.
Hi Lawrence, Thank you the invitation. Ladykiller sounds really good. Yet another book to add to my TBR pile. Though I am not sure when it will be released in UK.
Hi Lawrence and thanks for the invitation. I wish I knew more of your authors other than Lee Child (a fellow Brit of course!) and David Morrell. Interesting collection of thrillers in your movies, too. What, no Airforce One? :-)
Thanks for the invite. I am looiing forward to checking out your books. I am trying to learn about investments, so what a coincidence that you write for Forbes!
Hi there - was so very impressed with you and Meredith. I have some nice photos from the convention. They're posted at http://picasaweb.gmail.com/karenlaubenstein/Bouchercon2007/
Hi Larry -- I read Meredith's blurb about B'con and was dismayed to learn they didn't have LADYKILLER for the book signings--when I couldn't find it, I figured it was sold out. They didn't get my books, either, not sure why? I'm very glad you guys were there, you lit up the camera at every event you attended and my son loved dancing around you at the Anthony Awards banquet. We just contacted the Alaska Jr Dance Theater to see about him getting some training, since that was his first and only performance. I think Mr. Whitekeys wanted to hire him! He'll be 7 on Nov. 3rd and we'll all be celebrating it in great style at the H2Oasis water park here in Anchorage. I'm still hoping to get LADYKILLER soon to see what's up -- meanwhile plugging away at my MOOSE MURDERS. Take care - hope you'll both get back to Alaska sometime in the future and will bring plenty of your books with you (smile).
Thanks Lawrence, you two have been busy. I'm very impressed you were able to work together. I mentioned to Meredith that you need to stop in Vancouver next time on your way to Alaska. My husband goes to NY on business occasionally so maybe we will have a chance to meet one day - you two would have lots to talk about if your day job is any indication. Fridays markets must be creating a lot of excitement at work for you!
Nice to meet you. Congratulations on the contribution to the Noir anthology. I just wrote a short piece on L.A. Noir for L.A. Weekly, mentioning the L.A. Noir anthology.
Thank you for the invitation:) I'm sure your tour was doubly exciting since your book was a collaboration:)...both of you will never lack for conversation as you travel:)
Lawrence, thanks for your invitation. I was sorry it wasn't possible to attend the last Bouchercon in Alaska, but my husband and I hope to attend the one in Baltimore.
I noticed you enjoy "24". When is it coming back??
Hi Lawrence
Sounds like you're leaving the dream. Congratulations!
No wonder you have such a great smile.
