Books And Authors I Like:
My favorite authors are Agatha Christie, Dick Francis, Sue Grafton, and Jane Austen (and everyone here).
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
I watch some crime shows, but none regularly, have the whole Gilmore Girls series on DVD and watch frequently, hardly ever miss Masterpiece or Doc Martin. My favorite movie right now is Pride & Prejudice--the Colin Firth one (hated the other). My Netflix queue is full of BBC & Masterpiece movies and all of the Agatha Christie and Wallender series I can find there.

Hi Cyndi, nice to meet you! Sounds like you have your hands full - teenagers sure keep one busy!
  • Patrick Lee

Hi Cyndi! Thanks for the invite. I've always meant to read some Sherlock Holmes. Actually, trying to become a writer without doing that is probably some kind of crime.
  • Elizabeth Zelvin

Thanks for your Comment, Cyndi. I can't wait for Death Will Get You Sober either! ;) Liz

We'll plan on seeing you at LIMCON--it's just a short drive up the interstate!

    hey Cyndi how are you?

    Hi Cyndi!
Yep, most of my buddys say I am a 'hoot'.
I'm the dance mom of a 16 yr old ,so I bet we could compare notes.
Nothing like reading the classic mysteries. I loved Christies Tommy and Tuppence series.

  • Dave Zeltserman

For a short time. Unfortunately because of allergies we had to find the little guy a new home. It broke our hearts.
  • carole gill

Cyndi, thank you. I have a photo of Mother and puppies on my page. I'll put up more as they begin to look less like gerbils and more like puppies!

    Hey!
I lived in Chesterfield for 13 years working for McAir, until Boeing at the goose that laid golden eggs. I left for Maryland. My upcoming Nick Schaevers mysteris are based in St Louis. He converted the Levine Hat Company into a gigantic loft. (The Levines get a kick out of it, that their bsuiness is about to be the "bat cave" of a noir detective. The series debuts next year!
If a author writes a novel in the forest, and nobody reads it, did it make a sound?
I'm newt, slithering from the shallow end of the gene pool, into the open ocean. Sharks are likely to eat me before the salt water kills me, but who wants a quiet life?
  • carole gill

thanks, they're all asleep now. Mommy too. i'm just cooking some meat for her, to keep her going strong. but the Dad (who's also asleep in the corner, not far) will have some--or he'll feel cheated!
  • Newt Love

I am launching the Nick Schaevers mysteries (each book) at The Big Sleep bookstore in St. Slouis' CWE. My friend Robert Randisi (now in St. Louis) is likely to be there to intorduce me. The first one is due in March 2008. I have two under contract.

    Hi Cyndi,
Thanks for the invite! I noticed Clea is a friend, too--we have the same publisher. I noticed you enjoy Dick Francis--I love his work.
    Aloha,

  • Mary Saums

Hey, Cyndi - Nice to see you here. I've really enjoyed the Dick Francis books on tape. The only thing better than reading a good book is for a guy with a sexy British accent to read it to you. :)
  • Mary Saums

Haha - this picture is of my evil twin. :) All the props belong to my husband...well, except for the Kama Sutra. :)
  • Pat Mullan

    Hello Cyndi,

Greetings from Connemara! Used to visit St. Louis in one of my parallel lives ...

    Best, Pat.

    Cyndi,

You just made my day when you said:

    At 6:44am on August 31st, 2007, Cyndi Martin said…
"Thanks for adding me! WOW!!! You look so young! "

Like Jack Benny, I've been the same age for years! Living well is the best revenge!

    Best, Pat.

    Hi Cyndi,

You believe you read BONE THIEF and you liked it?
    That yields ~ 1) ! and 2) ! Thank you!
  • Liz

Hi Cyndi, Thank for the invite. . Sounds like you are busy women. You must have to drive all over the place for your daughter, I guess it must be fun though.
  • Arkansas Cyndi

Cyndi - I keep running into you on one of my other loops...Lipstick Chronicles maybe? It always catches my notice when someone spells their name the same as I do!
  • Douglas Quinn

Hi Cyndi. I agree. It's hard to beat Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle and his Sherlock Holmes stories. I have two volumes of all his works on my shelf, just to remind myself if I'm getting too cocky about my own work what good writing and good story-telling is all about. Hope you will check out my Crimespace page and website and see what I'm doing these days.

    Smiles,
    Douglas Quinn

Well, at least statewide neighbors. I live near Elizabeth City. In my current novel, Blue Heron Marsh, my protag Webb Sawyer's investigation takes him across the state to places like Clayton, Asville, Carthage, Pineville and Charlotte. He also spends some time fishing off Ocracoke Island with his friend, Blythe Parsons. I love the Outer Banks and had fun writing this book.

  • Austin S. Camacho

Hi, Cyndi, and thanks for the invitation. I can only guess what a reader thinks when they hit this site: So many crime writers, so little time. Enjoy romping through the literary fields!
  • carole gill

thanks so much Cyndi. They're cuter by the day! so playful. they don't look real to us. they act and look like wind up toys! all the best to you!

  • Charlotte Williamson

    Cyndi,
You're my kind of reader and viewer! I love all those, too. Thanks for asking to be my friend on crimespace.
  • Charlotte Williamson

    Thanks, Cyndi
Hope you enjoy them. I've had a lot of positive feedback. let me know what you think; negative or postive, it works to my benefit
  • Charlotte Williamson

Wow. There's another Charlotte Williamson out there that'sbeen published. What are the coincidences? Naw, vehicle maintenance for women isn't me. I barely know where the gas tank lid is. My books are murder mysteries: Switched & Say Aloha to Murder; both are Detective James Hardrock Mysteries. My third, Murder Revisited, is a work-in-progress. This one's based on a real murder, and it's hard pinning professional people ( that I need data from) down for interviews. It's slow-going. I've been working for months with the police in Hopewell, VA., trying to get original incident reports. Sometimes, it's like pulling teeth from a hen's mouth. And autopsy results? Next to impossible. But never fear, I persevere. They'll give me the info just to shut me up.
  • djpakhs

    Yes,
I live in India.. I am working as a Manager for a Database Organization. US Based Company Outsource.... Its nice and life is ok... thanks

Hi Cyndi and Greetings: Just to let you know that my New Orleans noir mystery, The
Beatitudes, has received 5 starred reviews! I am donating all royalties to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation to help rebuild the public libraries. Billowing smoke is certainly not what you want from a car - well, unless it's some sort of carnival funny car I guess. So, you are forgiven. It went okay, a few people showed up, I had some fun, sold some books, showed some pictures and played some music from Cambodia, and then off I went to Iowa City, Minneapolis and tonight Madison, WI. A lot of driving, only the occasional smidgeon of glamor. Still, having fun. Hope all's good with you.

I am a bit long of tooth but still young of heart. :-) I have two children and four grandchildren...was recently widowed after 35 years of marriage (Well, Thanksgiving Day would have been our 35th as hubby died in April).
Single mom, huh? Been there, did that. Jolly took us all on in November, 1972, when my kids were just toddlers.
All out of the nest now and in other states. Now I have time to READ and maybe do some writing. I taught high school English for over 15 years and worked in public libraries for longer than that. This site looks informative and fun.
  • Mark Stevens

    Thanks for the request!
  • Allan E. Ansorge

Saw your comment on Austin's line. Judgeing by your reading you should enjoy Nancy Pickard's Virgin Of East Plains. It has more twist and turns than Christy and Doyle put together. It starts kind of grim but the book is great.
