Cool, you made it here. It wouldn't be right without you, Steven. Hope you have some fun, and there's plenty of fun to be had it seems. :)
  • Steven Torres

Daniel - I look forward to fun, but...

    Bryon - You're here?
  • Daniel Hatadi

Ever tried those fun size Mars Bars? They're fun. I never knew that fun would be so small, though.

And Bryon? Oh man, I thought I set this thing up to keep people like him...
  • Rob Siders

Thanks for accepting my invite... I've got DEATH AT PRECINCT PUERTO RICO sitting here on my desk waiting for me to dig in.
  • Jennifer Jordan

I think Mr. Torres should ignore Crimespace and getting busy writing more books for me to read.

And those fun size really are fun! In a, "I wonder if I can eat the whole bag in one sitting," kinda way.
  • Steven Torres

I am writing more books - two of them. For the next few weeks I'll be working on THE CONCRETE HEART. A follow-up (technically a prequal) to THE CONCRETE MAZE.

Can't ignore CRIMESPACE, though. I'm ignoring my own blog for the moment. That got tiring.
  • I. J. Parker

Oh, this is nice. Friends. Not sure I like my image much. Hmm. Must do something about it. Now, Bryon's choice is interesting. I happen to know Bryon.
  • Deborah Pesa

Thank you for the friendly invite, Steven. Shout out from the boro of Queens!
  • I. J. Parker

Hi, Steven. Have you switched to a new series? Wonderful!
  • Steven Torres

    Ingrid,
New series to go with the old one. Also trying to right a thriller. We'll see how that goes.
    Deborah,
I'm guessing you're looking forward to QUEENS NOIR. Should be a good one.
  • Laura Benedict

Thanks for being my friend, Steven!
  • Malgorzata Janerka

Hi Steven, thanks for the welcome! Travelling is easy now :-). Good luck with your work.
  • Amanda Stevens

Thanks so much for the welcome, Steven. This seems like a great place to hang out.
  • Simon Wood

    Steven,

Yep, I'm asking my non-American friends about American history for help. :-)

    Simon
  • Nichole R. Bennett

    Thanks for the welcome, Steven!
  • Simon Wood

Thanks. It was touch and go on the review. It should have been published a month ago, but she really pulled one out for me.
  • Steven Torres

    Em,
I guess I lied when I said there were no giggles in my latest books. Now that I look at it, I can see where it might be all smiles all the time for some readers...Just wait....
  • Dave Zeltserman

Hey Steve, thanks for the invite.--Dave
  • Robin Caroll

I wait for the DVD a lot, too. We joined Netflix a few years back and I'm an addict!
  • Dennis Webster

It's great to be here, Steven. This is a really awesome gathering of writers. I hope you've been well. Please let me know when The Concrete Maze comes out so I can be first in line to pick it up.
  • carole gill

thanks, Steve. I'm sure I'll love it.
  • carole gill

Just looked over your thingy here.
I feel encouraged about getting published--never really tried. I feel positive--hope it rubs off.
    all the best.
  • colin cotterill

hello steven, thanks for the welcome. it was quick. i've only just signed up. are you lurking there in cyberspace waiting to pounce on new members? have i been webstalked? congratulations on making it into the shallow side of a million on amazon. i feel sorry for the little old amazon accounting lady who has to count the books every half hour.
  • colin cotterill

it doesn't work like that. whe you actually have a book you slide in the other direction. make a printout now while you can still fit all those digits on the page.
  • Naomi Hirahara

Will you be out in L.A. in August? Let me know--maybe we can get together for coffee.
  • Bernd Kochanowski

BTW: You did a fine interview with Laura Lippman. Interesting, with insight and new informations.
  • Carla Harker

Thanks for the compliment on my blog. And thanks for the invite.
  • Pamela Samuels-Young

Thanks for the invite. Sounds like you're a busy guy. Your blog is quite entertaining. I've experienced that big Amazon jump too. My book landed in the Top 100 on the African-American interest best-sellers' list (No. 92). By the time I emailed a friend to check it out, it was gone. Oh well!
  • Bernd Kochanowski

    Helle Steven,

thanks for your invite. And yes, "krimileser" means reader of crime literatur. I just mentioned that I respect your attitude, that you spoke to 15 people (or so) and sold 7 books and were happy.

  • Erica ODonnell

Thank you so much for the welcome. I just started reading Chris Mooney's "The Missing" and just finished Janet Evanovich's "Lean Mean Thirteen". Have a great day.
  • Cormac Brown

    Hola,

Thank you Steven, for being the first person to welcome me to Crime Space and thank you for accepting the invite. I appreciate it.
  • Karen J. Laubenstein

Hi Steven, sounds like an exciting life you've lead. Nice writing.
  • R. Barri Flowers

Hey, Steven. Another Dorchester thriller writer, aye? Great.
  • JackBludis

Hold on there, young man: "Hardboiled Cozies?" Isn't that a oxymoron?
  • JackBludis

OK, "Hardboiled Cozy," Cabot Cove but the people leave uglier corpses? I was relating "Hardboiled Cozy" to the Bronx. Kind of nice murders at the candy store. But your way works too.
  • gracebrophy

Thanks for the invitation to be your friend. Good luck with your novel.
  • Sandra Balzo

Hey, Steven, great to see your smiling face again, if only via the web!
  • Donna Moore

You're more than welcome - I absolutely loved it and it will definitely be on my list of top reads of 2007. See you in Alaska.
  • Sam Reaves

Looking forward to our panel. I'll have to do a little thinking to make sure I can define "hard boiled". See you in Anchorage.
  • Kevin Helmold

    Hi Steven,
I'm glad you picked up a copy of my book. I'd like to meet you and all the other crimespace authors. I'll be at the LIM conference next Feb. in Chicago. Are you or any of your writing friends planning on making it to that conference?
  • HappyRuby

Just finished The Concrete Maze yesterday. I intend to get a review posted and then send it on to my daughter in W. Virginia. I'm sure she will really enjoy the book. I did but it made me sad.
  • Bruce Findleton

Just got my copy of The Concrete Maze. Most grateful. Thanks.
  • Bernd Kochanowski

    Hello Steven,

in case you care. Just posted my review of "the concrete maze". The link ist here http://krimileser.wordpress.com/2007/11/15/kurzrezension-steven-torres-concrete-maze/

i Liked it, quite a amazing ride.
  • Bernd Kochanowski

It's a Pity, that I cannot leave a commentary on your blog (I blog with Wordpress and have no Blogger-account).

But: Winspear did not receive an Edgar. She was as often as Bruen nominated for it.
  • Bernd Kochanowski

    Hi,

I read your blog regularly, so I realized that you wrote about my post. Sorry that my English is not good enough, otherwise I would write sometimes posts on crimespace.

Indeed, I never read IJ Parker, but I realized that she is active on crimespace and often comments on "contemporary nomad".

Concerning Winspear: If I understand you correctly Maisie Dobbs wasn't your cup of tea (She won the Agatha). I agree, but I was really impressed with her description of (and attitude to) the "great war" and due to her I bought me a book with verses from Wilfred Owen - fine stuff.
  • JackBludis

Did you start your Jan 3rd project yet?
