Profile Information

Hometown:
I've lost track--born Rochester NY, and have lived in eight states since, some more than once.
About Me:
It's out! Through a Glass, Deadly (under the name Sarah Atwell) is on bookshelves in real stores!
I Am A:
Writer
Website:

Books And Authors I Like:
Dorothy L. Sayers, Nevada Barr, Laurie King, John Connolly (no relation that I know of), and a whole lot more.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
I thought we were supposed to be too busy writing to watch television. (Ha!) House, The Closer, CSI (the original), almost any cooking show (Iron Chef, Top Chef, etc.), This Old House. Most recently, Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations (guess what--he writes mysteries).

I don't see a lot of first-run movies, but I have an unexplained fondness for blockbusters with giant animals--I adore Jurassic Park. And the Irish film The Commitments is lovely (no giant animals there).

Hi Sheila,
yes books are expensive here - I try and support my local independent bookshops whenever possible, but sometimes...yesterday I got a parcel from amazon uk containing 2 hardback crime novels. Even including postage it still worked out cheaper that buying them in trade paper here. How is that possible? Anyway I look forward to reading your book.

Sheila,
Thanks for the invite. Good luck on the book release. Curious about your decision to use a pen name.

Thanks for the reminder of that book Sheila, I've pulled it from my shelf and will add it to my soon to be read pile. I love Dick Francis and can usually read him numerous times.

I worked at Wells Fargo Bank in SF until '83 and then went to work for a small bank. When were you in Banking in SF and for what company, it would be seriously strange if we knew some of the same people.

Sheila, of course I'll be your friend. Congratulations on your book soon to be out. I'll watch for it, I love glass blowing although I'm too chicken to think I could do it. That furnace and the molten glass on the end of the pipe scare me. Are you a glass blower or just an admirer?

Hi Sheila,
You sound like you have a fondness for SF as well as mystery. Me too. My mystery is finished and am looking for an agent. However, most of my short stories seem to be SF-mystery crossover. Nice to be your friend.

That is actually my favorite scene in Twister. It's what I think of every time I want to watch it. I am looking forward to seeing your book on the shelves. Congratulations!!! I can't write, therefore, I support those who can. = )

Thanks for the kind words and the invite, Sheila! And congratulations on that contract in hand!

It's super to meet a medievalist. :) We had quite a few go through our Latin program (then they had to relearn the soft pronunciation once they got to doctoral candidacy). ;)

Take care, and I'm looking forward to the book!

Kelli
