About Me:
A journalist for 54 years, mainly on sport. Lived in Sydney for 17 years and with colleague Tony Reeves investigated the 1975 killing of newspaper editor Juanita Nielsen, murdered for what she was about to publish on organised crime and corruption. For the safety of his loved ones, Barry was forced to leave Sydney in consequence and returned to the UK where he resumed his career in sports journalism. He became Travel Editor of Golf Monthly magazine and now runs a golf-travel website, www.posh-golf-travel.com. Barry's book on the murder, written as a novel for legal reasons, is entitled The Girl Who Knew Too Much. UK PHONE HACKING SCANDAL SHOULD RING BELLS IN SYDNEY

Maybe it's my warped sense of humour but the screaming headlines and the hair-tearing that accompanied the London media phone hacking scandal left me with a wry smile and the thought of "what might have been."

In Memory of Juanita

July 4 brought the 36th anniversary of the unresolved murder of Juanita Nielsen, the 36 year-old campaigning editor of a Kings Cross (Sydney) newspaper who disappeared without trace and whose remains have never been found.
