Classic noir: Chandler, Goodis, Woolrich, et al. John D. MacDonald. Plus love dark fantasy writers like Bradbury, Sturgeon, Clive Barker, etc., and fiction about rock-n-roll (Armageddon Rag; Glimpses; etc.)

Have recently rewatched Chinatown and Body Heat and dug them as much as when I first saw 'em. Others, in random order: Double Indemnity, The Late Show, The Long Goodbye, The Two Jakes, The Crow, etc.

Hi David, thanks for commenting back. I tend to write more in the speculative fiction genres, though a writers group friend told me a character I have is a perfect fit for a crime/caper series.
