About Me:
I grew up in Florida and New Orleans, but now live in the northeast of Thailand with my wife. She’s a linguistic’s professor at our local university.

My stories have appeared in Oxford Magazine, storySouth, the Paumanok Review, 42 Opus, Ducts, Pindeldyboz and Projected Letters. In 2006, the short story, “7 Cornish Hens”, was nominated for a Pushcart prize.

My essays and feature articles have appeared in numerous publications including, the Bangkok Post, the Nation newspaper, Antiquarian Book Review, Knot Magazine, and International Living.

After graduating from Florida State University, I taught writing and literature for universities in the states and abroad. I enjoyed ten years of literature classes, creative writing workshops, and composition courses. Students always impressed me with their energy and ideas. And I was lucky to meet people from all over the world, but in particular Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, China, Korea, Bangladesh and India.

These days I work a small mango farm, read and write crime novels and enjoy walks with my ridgeback dog along the river.

Thailand Anyone?

If you have ever wondered what life is like in the rural northeast of Thailand I'd like to invite you to pay a visit to my blog. I have plenty of pictures I took myself (most of them anyway) around the village, the countryside and the city. I have posts about: the island of Phuket, Thai Ridgeback dogs, food, teaching English, Wood houses, farming and more.
