I'm the European editor for Noir Nation, and I would love to get some more stories from the UK for Issue 2 (Issue 1 will be available Sept 1, 2011). Looking for short stories and graphic stories (comics). Maybe you have some, and could also help spread the word? We start reading for issue 2 on Oct 1.
On the site and work side of things - at the moment, no, I'm afraid. I'm really only just starting out in the world of crime fiction, both reading and writing. I'm just a newbie, but interested in the field from a hobby standpoint for the time being.
Thank you for your recommendation. Every author I've run into advice from on the internet has stressed that you've got to read a whole bunch of fiction in and out of the genre you're interested in so that you can get a good foundation for your own work. I'll certainly check him out.
And finally - I'm actually English, really. The Welsh spelling of Hugh was a parental decision, which has probably confused several thousand receptionists, clerks and various form-fillers over the last twenty years.
