I am the author of the Anna Strong Vampire Series, described as mysteries in which the protagonist just happens to be a vampire. The first book, The BECOMING, was published by Ace in Dec 2006, followed by BLOOD DRIVE, June 2007, and THE WATCHER to be released December 2007. I am contracted for books 4 & 5. I live now in Denver, but San Diego will always be home. My protagonist Anna feels the same. She lives in Mission Beach.
Sue Grafton, Sara Paretsky, Robert B. Parker, Anne Rice, Jeff Mariotte, lots of others I'm too brain dead to remember now. (I've been on the road promoting BLOOD DRIVE for the last ten days and have another week to go.)
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
Anything with gratuitous sex and violence. Good characters and dialogue help, too. Anything that Joss Whedon has done.

Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”
Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."
Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"
The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.
Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.
The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Many thanks to all who have posted comments. I really do plan to take a more active part in Crimespace. Right now, though, I have a book about half way completed with a deadline of October 31. You all know how that is.
Roger, I met Jeremy Brett many years ago in LA. His wife had just passed away and he had the saddest eyes! I have a picture of the two of us that is among my most prized possessions. We'll definitely speak more of this...
Hello Jeanne, nice to meet you.
I'm pleased you accepted my invite, I', all for making as many new friends as I can.
I don't know if you've ever watched the UK TV drama series of Sherlock Holmes, I assume it might have been transmitted over there. I think they're a great and very close adaptation to Conan Doyle's original stories. Jeremy Brett plays a mean Holmes, and I've met Edward Hardwicke, who plays Dr. Watson, and spoken to him on the phone, he's read two of my Holmes comedy plays, and he enjoyed them!
Looking forward to chatting with you on this very subject. Take care till then.
