This kind of woman seens to be a commond denominator for males who write mystery/noir detectives. Hmmm. . . it must be a sickness. Or genetics.

Since I only have one working hand, snail mail is really difficult for me - but I query The Usual Suspects (AHMM, EQMM, WW) by snail mail because that's what they want and they are lucrative markets. I really prefer email, though - in the cyberwor...

Email queries leave no room for self-deception. They hated everything about my proposal. My personal best-or worst, I should say--was an eighteen minute turnaround.

John, I'm sorry it took me so long to respond to your friend request, but I only drop in on Crimespace once or twice a week.

Your who/whom solution is too complicated for me. Actually, I often use who intentionally when whom is technically correct, and rarely in dialogue. Sometimes clarity is far more important than grammar or punctuation. See Cormac McCarthy there is a man who not only fractures the rules, he smashes them into tiny pieces. He even passes on quotation marks. Prose poets can get away with that. Most of the rest of us can't.

Hi John!
We both have a similar who/whom rule. The way I do it is if you can substitute hiM (or her) you can use whoM. :)
