Could someone please tell me the value of setting up such a page? Also, is there a way to link it to one's Amazon listing? Thanks.Continue

"Both of JE's tips above are excellent advice. Listings change like the weather, and Writer Beware is an excellent resource. Preditors and Editors (http://pred-ed.com/) is also very good."

"Dana, Great advice! And, I agree with you. I wouldn't want to deal with an agent who would only respond to me "if I feel like it." Talk about attitude!"

"Cold querying is tough. If you have a friend whose agent might be a good fit, a referral always helps. Otherwise, I agree that http://agentquery.com/ is a good place to start."

"Query only members of AAR.  There are unscrupulous people out there. As for the rest, I checked Writers Digest (God, that was a long time ago) for agents working in my genre. You may also get names from ackowledgments, of course.) and then…"

I was at Associated Press for 35 years in D.C. as sports director for its radio network. That's the connection for most of my author friends. Worked with Tom Young, whose 3rd novel was recently published. Worked with Charles (C.S.) Miller in radio news in Houston before the AP. Bruce DeSilva is a former AP colleague although we never worked directly together and Debbie (Debra) Galant is the wife of a former colleague from my Olympic staff who still works at the AP in NYC.

I've read Donald Westlake and Tony Hillerman. Are you familiar with Elizabeth George? I enjoy her work.

Thank you Kathy.  Falls Church has been my home for 23 years.  Have several friends who are published - Tom Young, C.S. Miller, Bruce DeSilva, Debbie Galant. Glad to be on; board.
