Indians Create New Gathering Spot

We live very close to the Tule River Indian Reservation. With the advent of their casino (small by most Indian casino standards) life for these Native Americans has been a change for the better. The reservation is tucked away in a narrow valley between huge mountains. The reservation has more acreage than any other California reservation. However, much of it is inaccessible and includes part of an old growth Sequoia forest.

The Indians now have their own health clinic, a modernized… Continue

Playing Catch Up

It's been a long while since I blogged here. So it's time to catch up a bit.

My latest Deputy Tempe Crabtree mystery is now available from http://www.mundaniapress.com as an e-book and trade paperback. This is the back cover blurb:

Tempe Crabtree is the resident deputy of Bear Creek, a small mountain community in the southern Sierra. Her continuing interest in the spiritual side of her heritage often causes unrest in her marriage to her minister husband.

Convention Junkie

I confess, I'm a convention junkie. Already this year I've been to Chicago for Love is Murder in February, to Epicon in Portland OR in March, tomorrow I'm leaving for Las Vegas and the Public Safety Writers conference, May will find me in Omaha at Mayhem in the Midlands. I have two more in the fall.

Next year I'm going to have to decide just which one of the cons will be the most beneficial--or that I'll most enjoy since this is the last year I'm going to be teaching part-time which… Continue

Marilyn I received my signed copy of DISPEL The MYTH today, how wonderful!, and just in time for the holidays. Thank-you too much!! I'm still waiting for "ANGELS" by my friend Sunny Frazier to get here, then my shopping list for Xmas will be complete. I just read DK Gaston's book LOST HOURS, an exciting detective type murder mystery with a bunch of twists and turns, and you'll never guess the villain. I'm reading another book right now, chapter eight of 9 NINE DRAGONS by Michael Connelly. You know he was on the new T.V. show Castle Nov 30, him and Stephen J Cannell both playing themselves on that episode. It was so kul. You can see it on online at cbs.com.

If you loved kindred spirits you ought to try Dispel the Mist. Tempe helps with the investigation of the suspicious death of a popular county supervisor and has an encounter with the legendary Hairy Man.

Have you signed up for the PSWA conference yet?

The next registration break in price lasts until March 31. It's a great conference. I know you'd have a good time.
