Profile Information

Hometown:
Kernersville, NC
About Me:
I have been a non-fiction writer for many years, but turned to novel writing in 2001. My frist mystery, Jilted By Death was published in 2004 by Silver Dagger Mysteries. A non-fiction book on writing came out in 2005 and a second novel, Duo of Opposites came out last year. I am now in the process of shopping around a crime novel.

Books And Authors I Like:
The author who first interested me in writing a mystery was Mary Higgins Clark, but I have been reading a lot of lesser known authors. My favorites change from time to time, but recently I've read wonderful books by Helen Goodman, p.m., terrell, Terry Hoover and Sharon Wildwind.
Movies And TV Shows I Like:
All series of Law & Order, Without a Trace, Jericho, and when I'm not in the mood for mystery I watch Deal or No-Deal or Desperate Housewifes. Most of the movies I see are with my 10 year old grandson. Lately it has been: Cars, Over the Hedge, Chicken Little, etc. I do plan to see Hog Wild because there is a motorcycle rider in my last book and I've been signing books at Harley Davidson Shops.

You wrote, "I don't come here often..." Me either; the habit's slow to form because at first visiting here wasn't worth the price in exhausted patience, but it seems to be working now, so we'll see. Of cours, that's what I said about a year ago. You also wrote, "... I do re-read my novels ocasionally..." Curiously enough, I seem to have quit reading my own. Part of sort of getting tired of modern mystery, which contains too few puzzles for my narrow tastes. Kay and I have a book of short stories out now, but don't expect your bookstore to stock it (either) unless you nag them about it. Happy October, Byron

Thanks, Lynette. Yes, all seems well so far, if horribly slow. I have a book coming out in July and am pinning all my hopes on it. My historical thriller apparently did not sell -- possibly because it was offered to romance publishers. A big disappointment, but one must move on. So good to hear from you, and I hope all is well with you also.

Hi, Lynette. How very nice to hear from you. Yes, I miss the old MWF also. Many nice people left when we switched. I'm okay. Writing another Akitada novel (# 8), revising the next one due out next summer (# 6), waiting to hear about some other books, but generally not all that hopeful. It's a terrible market.
How are you? ECHOES OF MERCY is a new one, isn't it? Congratulations and much good luck! Tell the others at MWF hello from me.

You know it really did help me!
I stuck to my w.i.p. and now after three drafts, I'm revising and editing!

Lynnette, thanks for adding us. I (Larry) feel a little awkward on sites that indicate a writing specialty. Our first collaborative novel, The Ballad of Lacey Jay, is a crime novel, but is more of a psychological thriller. My wife, Barbara, was a romance novelist when we met, now we tend to be omniscribes. We'll write about anything. I'm working on an espionage thriller at present while Barbi's writing a ghost-story romance. I'm also trying to turn a western short story into period fiction built around western migration in the post-civil war era.

Other than that, I was a journalist early and a senior-level technical writer until I met Barbi. Things have never been the same!

Hi Lynette
Hope you're well. I'm pleased to say Reaper is now available in the States on amazon.com at $16.99. In advanced search type Dunne for author and Reaper for title. Hope you take a look and spread the word. How's your own book going?
Best wishes
