Early Endorsements for “A Circle of Souls”

Linda Fairstein, NYT Bestselling Author: "A fascinating debut - this novel takes the reader to the darkest places in the human soul, from a writer with the authenticity to lead us there. A stunning thriller and an important read."

Judge Judy Sheindlin, star of the Judge Judy Show: "The seminal work of this fine author kept me glued to my chair until the adventure was over and the mystery solved. A great read!"

Book Synopsis:

The sleepy town of Newbury, Connecticut, is shocked when a little girl is found brutally murdered. The town s top detective, perplexed by a complete lack of leads, calls in FBI agent Leia Bines, an expert in cases involving children.

Meanwhile, Dr. Peter Gram, a psychiatrist at Newbury s hospital, searches desperately for the cause of seven-year-old Naya Hastings devastating nightmares. Afraid that she might hurt herself in the midst of a torturous episode, Naya s parents have turned to the bright young doctor as their only hope.

The situations confronting Leia and Peter converge when Naya begins drawing chilling images of murder after being bombarded by the disturbing images in her dreams. Amazingly, her sketches are the only clues to the crime that has panicked Newbury residents. Against her better judgment, Leia explores the clues in Naya s crude drawings, only to set off an alarming chain of events.
In this stunning psychological thriller, innocence gives way to evil, and trust lies forgotten in a web of deceit, fear, and murder.

Your editor is in *Creston*? For Christmas? Or for punishment? Just kidding. Creston is not far, you're right. Not sure where it is, exactly, though!

And, yes: we'll thank Ms. Thea. Nice to get to know you!

Hi Peg -- wrote you a nice long note and then hit the X button and deleted it. Ah! Was intrigued you were from Colorado. I lived there before coming to Alaska to marry the man I now live with. Was in Dolores. We're still in recovery mode after hosting a few hundred friends and then escaping to the beach in Homer with more, just getting life back to normal. One good thing is with all that work, I did get used to computer time daily, so have been whizzing along on the book, so that's great. My pup went East -- she flew to NY with author Jessica Speart this past weekend -- permanently. I miss her like crazy, but know she's happier since she is with people all day. Looking forward to updates on Colorado. -Karen

Sheesh. I'm embarrassed. Madly searching for our itinerary. I know we landed in Beiijing. With the exception of Qingdao, all of the other cities sound familiar. My husband especially loved Xi'an because of the warriors. I thought for sure I had my China stuff within arms reach. Duh. I guess I put it "somewhere safe." Double-sheesh. Will keep looking. An amazing country with more going on than meets the eye.

Lyn, what a great cause! I have donated to small, under-funded libraries and have supported friends who have worked to bring books back to other small communities devastated by tornadoes. Books are blessings to thousands of people, and libraries are havens. I wish you the best of luck, not only in your writing life, but in the reading life you're working so hard to bring to others.

Keep up with your writing, Tyro. It has been my salvation and has given me a purpose. My book, The Beatitudes, is a paranormal thriller set in New Orleans. It will be out in the fall and I am donating all royalties directly to the New Orleans Public Library Foundation. Libraries support the infrastructure of a great city, so I have started The Beatitudes Network to promote awareness of the importance of public libraries in NOLA.
The blogsite www.beatitudesinneworleans.blogspot.com describes the Network, has excerpts from The Beatitudes, recipes, and more. Merci mille fois. Lyn Lejeune.
Writers, please pass the word…..it’s for a good cause….don’t let the libraries of New Orleans or the US go the way of The Great Library of Alexandria. P.S. just posted an excerpt on my Crimespace page.
