I'm very good ... apart from the onset of middle age ... or old age as my daughters call it! It's great to hear from you so soon ... and to learn you've achieved your dream. I literally stumbled upon your name as an author yesterday and did a google to see it if was really you. Lo and behold it is! And Fin's writing as well. Very cool.
Sadly your books haven't made it into the Auckland library system - apart from one of the crime texts. My brother Mark is coming over in two weeks, so I'm getting him to hunt down a copy of Redback. Looking forward to reading it.
I've been here 20 years now and still working in television. Only just as the economic slump has really battered the local industry. Pay rates are back to 1990 levels and students graduating from communications courses are mostly working for peanuts, or nothing. I'd like to go back to driving double deckers and tourists around Europe again ... but the girls say at my age it could be a bit tragic.
I have three daughters - Rachael 21, Michelle 19 and Natasha 16. I can say they're pretty neat as they're never likely to visit here. Still married to Cath as well although she will wake up to my faults eventually. I guess this isn't a facebook site ... so are there any rules against me sending you an email address to chat some more? I think the last time we caught up was mid 80's and you were still at Lonely Planet. So I would love to hear about the roads you've travelled since then. Or is it how many words on the keyboard? Probably enough to encircle the world!
